Brian Vail, Owner

New at RAR

RAR (Reasonable Auto Repair) wants your relationship with your vehicle to be positive, inexpensive, and rewarding.  Accordingly and in response to requests, RAR now offers these additional services:

  • PTCPre-Trip Checkup

  • VACVacation Away Complete

  • BBCBuy or Bye Checkout

PTCPre-Trip Checkup is just as it sounds… you bring in your vehicle a week or two before a planned trip.  RAR inspects and adjusts systems and settings for safety compliance before you head out on your trip. Nobody wants to be on a trip only to have plans interrupted due to some mechanical problem that could have / should have been prevented.

VACVacation Away Complete is like a vacation for your car.  The idea is simple… when you go on a vacation without your car, your car goes on a vacation to RAR.  That way, when you return refreshed from your vacation, the logistics of annual maintenance on your car is already in the rear view mirror!  Your car is also refreshed and, just like you, ready to return to your routine work or other schedule.  This service works out well since the RAR may have more time with your vehicle for annual maintenance servicing that sometimes requires more than a day in the shop.  Get more from your next vacation – reset both you and your vehicle!

BBCBuy or Bye Checkout is the RAR answer to that critical question…  should you buy a used vehicle or say “bye” to that pre-owned vehicle and continue shopping?  RAR evaluates the vehicle you are considering by checking it for wear and problems beyond what may have been disclosed by the current owner.  Obtaining a CarFax®  report on the maintenance history of the vehicle is an option under the BBC service.  With RAR, buying a late model used vehicle becomes much less risky and a great approach to saving some serious money.   You can get a better idea of what you would be getting before its too late, and when you find the right pre-owned vehicle, you avoid paying inflated new car dealer prices for purchase and maintenance.

Brian Vail – Community Involvement

Hi.  I’m Brian Vail.   Reasonable Auto Repair “RAR” is my business is on Malabar Road, it is located just a short distance from the Town of Malabar Welcome sign.  Many of my customers are Malabar area friends and neighbors.  Folks know me as a hard working guy who gets things done.  My customers know that my business provides quality mechanical services at a reasonable price.  It is not a new business concept; but you know, it seems to be working – my customers keep coming back!

This is where I work. This is where I play.  This is where I raised my kids.  I am proud of my Malabar home.  I know our local challenges and many resources.  I have worked hard to make this area a better place and plan to continue those efforts in the future.  I have served on the Malabar Town Council.   I volunteer on the Malabar Fire Department.   I worked with the Malabar Trails & Greenways Committee on projects that led to Malabar’s recent state level recognition as a Florida Trails Town.

If you are concerned about the future of Malabar, I ask for your support to help me continue to make our town better.  Below are my answers to some frequent questions facing Malabar…

How long have you been involved in civic activities to benefit Malabar?

My age is 53 and I have been living in Malabar for the last 15 years.  In 1999 I purchased property in Malabar.  Since then I have been actively involved in the Town, first as a concerned citizen and then over the last twelve years serving 4 two-year-terms on town council representing the citizens of Malabar.  For about the same time, I have been involved with the Malabar Volunteer Fire Department.

What has motivated you to serve on Malabar Town Council?

The main reason for me to serve on council is my desire to protect the rural characteristics that I, and many of our citizens, have come to know and love.  I feel confident that I possess the leadership ability to keep the wishes and desires of our citizens protected and to do what is best for the town in the eyes of the citizens – even if it is against one’s personal preference.  It is my belief that the Town Council has the responsibility to reach out and communicate with the citizens by being as transparent and available as possible.

What do you see as Malabar’s biggest challenge for the future?

I think that the biggest challenge our town faces for the future is its inevitable growth.  All property owners, whether residential or commercial, have the right to develop, enjoy, and prosper in our town -just as many of us have done in the past.  However, current and future Town Councils must stand strong on current zoning regulations and building codes – just as we have in the past to maintain Malabar’s rural character.  I was a member of the Town Council during the building boom when many rezoning applications for smaller lot sizes were denied.  As a result of the council’s strong stand on keeping Malabar’s rural character, developers conformed to the zoning standards as had been established then and remain today.

Some Stats…

Some information about me, as was supplied to and published by Florida Today regarding the upcoming election for Malabar District 2 Town Council, appears below:

Age: 53
Occupation: Mechanic/shop owner
Education: Palm Bay High School graduate / trade school

Political/government/civic experience: Eight years previous Malabar council experience; eight years League of Cities experience; fire certified volunteer with the Malabar Fire Department; assists in community efforts such as trails & greenways, fitness park, disc golf park, and town festivals

Contact: bvailmalabar@gmail.com 321-543-3821

What are the top two to three issues in the community you’re running to represent and what specific actions will you take to address them if elected?

To take an aggressive approach on our drainage issues;  improve our maintenance standards for all roads in our town; preserve our character by developing a plan that benefits our current and future businesses yet keeping the beauty of our rural community

Thank you for helping me make Malabar even better!
